Woman arrested, accused of assault and arson after man found stabbed, mobile home on fire

The Glendale Police Department arrested a woman in connection with an aggravated assault and fire that unfolded in a Glendale trailer park about 12:30 a.m. Thursday, according to police.

Police say they arrested 55-year-old Amy Ann Hill after finding a man with stab wounds and a mobile home engulfed in flames near 51st and Orangewood avenues.

The man told officers that Hill and he were living together and that she was responsible for his wounds. Officers learned the two were in a relationship, deemed it a domestic violence case and detained Hill as she walked away from the scene, according to police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Glendale Fire Department evacuated neighbors and was able to gain control of the fire, according to police.

Hill was booked into jail on one count of aggravated assault and one count of arson of an occupied structure, police said. 

Glendale police noted that the month of October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This includes physical, emotional and psychological abuse.

Glendale residents are encouraged to call the Glendale Family Advocacy Center at 623-930-3720 for any reports of abuse.

Additionally, Glendale City Hall will shine with purple lights for the month of October to raise awareness around the issue.
