The Material Pairing That Gives Jessica Alba’s Kitchen Its Luxe Feel

When you want your kitchen to look especially elevated, you can’t go wrong with a zellige tile. We’ve oven sung the praises of this Morocco-originated material since noticing its increasing popularity last year. More recently, however, another covetable celebrity kitchen proves that this backsplash idea can do no wrong, especially when paired with a chic metallic contrast.

In a photo she shared of her 12-year-old daughter, Honor, Jessica Alba gives a glimpse at her simple yet refined cooking space by Clements Design. Glossy white zellige tiles stretch from counter to ceiling, and above her Lacanche range is a wide brass hood. These two design elements might look sleek on their own, but together they make a more dramatic statement (which complements her simple marble countertops and Farrow & Ball Down Pipe–painted cabinets rather nicely).

This design idea isn’t limited to massive interiors, even if Alba’s kitchen is on the larger side: Custom-order a range to fit perfectly above your stove, tile your backsplash, give your new cabinets a coat of paint, and you’ll have a refined space of your own. The right materials make a world of difference.
