NORTH SALT LAKE, UT (KSL) — A woman gave birth in a truck early Friday morning along U.S. Highway 89 with only her husband present to help deliver the baby.
Mariah Simmonds said her plan was to have her baby naturally at a birth center, but the contractions began to increase unexpectedly late Thursday evening.
“I called the midwife and said, ‘What should we do? Should we come in?’ and she said, ‘Go take a bath and see if they calm down and if your contractions calm down, we’ll meet up a little later.’”
Simmonds said the contractions slowed to 12 minutes apart before she went to bed around midnight.
Around 1 a.m. Friday, Simmonds woke up and the contractions had intensified once again. Her husband, Kirk Simmonds, encouraged her to get going.

A 62-year-old woman from Alabama was gunned down and killed in her own home in an act of revenge, according to police.
Martha McGinsey was shot dead on September 29 in Roderick Road, Mobile.
And Mobile police chief Lawrence Battiste said McGinsey’s murder was retaliation for the killing of 25-year-old Keontae McCants earlier that day in Lyric Street in Prichard.
McGinsey’s son, Sidney Zireef Burke, has been charged with murder in that case.
Now police have announced they have arrested five men suspected of being involved in the death of McGinsey who officers have described as an innocent victim.
Speaking to Fox 10 News, Battiste said the incident should never have happened.
“I think there is bad blood between the families. I haven’t seen anything that suggests that it is a gang problem,” he said. “It is an aggressive family revenge type of situation.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – In June of this year 81-year-old Dodi Sawyer hired a home improvement company to do some repairs. She says the contractor expanded the project, dismantled portions of the house, and made it unlivable. During the process she and her insurance company spent $11,000 for an unfinished job.

“I was having the plumbing re-done and the electric re-done and that turned into three months of destruction of the inside, throwing away my kitchen appliances, and taking down my shower and leaving me with nothing but empty rooms,” Sawyer said.

Breathing deeply, I rubbed my aching baby bump and moaned.
“You need to call the hospital,” my partner, Beau, urged.
I rolled my eyes and waved him away.
“It’s too soon,” I argued. “They’ll only send me home.”
Forty weeks and five days into my pregnancy, I’d gone into labour.
It was 5am and I’d been experiencing contractions for three hours, but they were still spaced out, sometimes only coming every 10 minutes.
When I gave birth to our son, Dylan, four, I was in labour for 38 hours, so I
They divorced in 2007, and we have only recently found out that he passed away earlier this year. A web title search showed the property is still in his and my mom’s names. Although my mom doesn’t have any loans or mortgages on her name, the bank told us that there are mortgages and/or loans on my stepfather’s name. However, they will not share that information with us and required probate documents.
My questions are: Is the house solely my mom’s now? Is she responsible for mortgages on my stepfather’s name? How do we proceed to sell the house since we live in another country and cannot afford to maintain it? How would we sell it if it has an open lien, for example?
A: It’s quite important to determine how your stepfather and mom purchased the home. While you may not see percentages in a document, that does

Police say they arrested 55-year-old Amy Ann Hill after finding a man with stab wounds and a mobile home engulfed in flames near 51st and Orangewood avenues.

A woman claiming to be with Child Protective Services showed up at a house in Logan County, West Virginia, without a car or paperwork before an attempted kidnapping, the sheriff’s office said.
The suspect made the resident take a urine drug test and examined her child, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. After doing so, the woman is accused of attempting to take the child.
Once the victim realized the woman didn’t have a car or any paperwork, she called authorities, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies called the county’s CPS agency as well as those in surrounding counties, officials say, but none sent a worker to the victim’s house. They also had no reports about the child the suspect allegedly tried to kidnap.
The sheriff’s office said all CPS workers are required to wear credentials identifying them as such. CPS workers also must have a court order with them
A mother-to-be has unveiled her stunning kitchen transformation – which she completed while almost nine months pregnant.
Dearbhaile Cooke, 29, from Belfast, got the keys to her new home when she was eight months gone and was desperate to renovate the kitchen before moving in and giving birth.
But rather than shell out on new units, Dearbhaile spent hours coating the dated pine doors a chic shade of black using Frenchic paint.

An expectant mother rallying after the trauma of miscarrying said she “feels forgotten about” after she was told her wife could not support her through the birth of their first child.
Chairis Grant-Hickey, a 38-year-old education officer, lost her first child conceived through fertility treatment, and has struggled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and panic attacks since.
The woman, who lives in South East London, experienced a miscarriage in October 2019. She fell pregnant for the second time in January.
“I had a missed miscarriage, meaning that I lost my first child at six weeks, but we didn’t find out until the nine week scan,” she said. “After the miscarriage I didn’t expect this level of anxiety. Every time I walk into a hospital, the memories of what happened just came flooding back,” she said. “I’ve still struggled with
