Ina Garten gives a tour of her kitchen, shares design tips for optimal cooking

It’s the perfect time of year to cozy up with some comfort food, and Ina Garten has some tips to make your fall and winter cooking as easy as possible.

The Barefoot Contessa, as she’s known in her popular Food Network show, stopped by TODAY’s fourth hour on Tuesday to show co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager around her East Hampton kitchen and offer some design advice.

“When I’m designing a kitchen … I think of setting the stove, the sink and refrigerator in a triangle so you can move around really well,” she explained, adding that in her own kitchen, these three appliances are “really close together, but they also have a lot of workspace in between.”

“I always like the sink to have a really nice view,” Garten, 72, continued. Her kitchen sink points to her beloved garden where she grows fresh produce and hosts outdoor dinner

Home remodeling tour features homes in Bexley, Hilliard, Dublin, more

Steve Stephens

| The Columbus Dispatch

After a season in which the most popular home and garden tours have been cancelled or moved online, Columbus-area remodelers have decided it is finally time to welcome the public back to see, in person, some of their best work.

The Columbus chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) will host the region’s first major home tour of the year on Saturday and next Sunday.

The tour will feature remodeling projects at seven homes, and one remodeler’s showroom showcase.

“The decision to move forward with the tour has been really hard, but we are very excited,” said Pam Patter, executive director of NARI of Central Ohio.

Special pandemic precautions will be taken for the tour, Patter said.

The number of people allowed at one time in each home will be limited, and social distancing and face masks will be required, she

Will Smith Goes Home to Bel-Air in ‘Fresh Prince’ Mansion Airbnb Tour

Will Smith put on his prince of Bel-Air crown on Monday (Sept. 28) when he gave a tour of the iconic mansion from the Fresh Prince series.

To celebrate news that he’s working with Airbnb to put the home up on the platform as a vacation rental for just five nights to celebrate the beloved sitcom’s 30th anniversary, Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff gave fans a tour of the property. The five-minute clip shows how the home has been transformed into a space full of nostalgic artifacts from the show.

After exploring the home, Smith and Jazz were joined by the cast Fresh Prince, and the group sign a wall in the mansion. “This image represents all that the Banks family represented,” Smith explains. “All of the hopes, and all of the dreams and all of the possibilities. Being able to grow and excel in

Tour a New Jersey Kitchen with a “Men’s Club Aesthetic”

Tudor homes are as famously dark and moody as the late-medieval British epoch in which the architecture was born—but that’s just the way the owner of this Montclair, New Jersey, abode likes it. “He’s an old-school guy, so we came up with a men’s club aesthetic,” says his designer, Birgitte Pearce, who is originally from Denmark. “A timeless kitchen doesn’t have to be white!”

The client has a basement workshop “that’s his palace,” Pearce says, and one goal was to bring back the basement stairs. The new stairwell’s line of walnut dowels with brass standoffs ended up as muse for the entire remodeling project. Now, the living metal supplies its burnished charms everywhere, from the drawer pulls to the range hood.

Carrying these tones throughout the house allowed the designer to visually connect the adjacent rooms without opening up walls, a move that would have left the Tudor bereft of

Heritage Station Museum flooding ends tour appointments | News

PENDLETON —The Umatilla County Historical Society’s Heritage Station Museum has canceled museum tour appointments due to flooding in one of its galleries.

On Tuesday, Aug. 11, one of the museum galleries, housed in the historic 1909 train depot, experienced flooding. No artifacts were lost or damaged during the flood and damage was contained to exhibit displays cases, carpet, drywall and baseboards.

In an Aug. 21 interview, Kari Brooks, the executive director, said the flooding was the result of a plumbing issue with a water valve that went down.

Since July 28, the Heritage Station Museum has offered museum tour appointments to visitors. These tour appointments were two-hour blocks of time that allowed visitors the comfort of a safe, stress-free museum experience even during COVID-19. During these tour appointments, visitors were able to visit the much-anticipated Umatilla Gold Exhibit and also view a tribute to Til Taylor.

All visitor appointments have
