Thawing of frozen loans stalls as restrictions bite

The mixture of home loans to SME loans is broadly the same with the value of home loans falling to $160 billion in August from $167 billion in July and deferred SME loans falling to $53 billion from $55 billion over the same period.

Lender level data still shows Bank of Queensland as the big lender with the highest proportion of deferred loans overall accounting for 12 per cent of its total book. BoQ has frozen repayments of 11 per cent of its home loan book and 21 per cent of its SME loan book.

Earlier this week the bank announced it was ramping up provisions for bad debts to $175 million after taking into account the worsening impact of the virus crisis.

Mask ordinance extended through Nov. 8th; Hospital and nursing home restrictions eased

Governor Kay Ivey extended her health order including a statewide mask ordinance through November 8th as part of Alabama’s continued efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’ve heard from a lot of you and I hear you but I look forward to lifting the mask order as much as you do, if not more and hopefully that can be sooner, not later,” said Ivey acknowledging the frustration among many Alabamians eager to return to a sense of normalcy.

Ivey’s announcement kept virtually all of Alabama’s Safer At Homer order in place. The new order did ease restrictions on hospitals and nursing homes by allowing patients and residents to  be visited by one caregiver or visitor at a time.

Nursing homes are still subject to a series of federal restrictions issued in September by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The regulations state a facility must go 14 days

Pregnant woman struggling with PTSD after miscarrying urges review of early labour restrictions

An expectant mother rallying after the trauma of miscarrying said she “feels forgotten about” after she was told her wife could not support her through the birth of their first child.

Chairis Grant-Hickey, a 38-year-old education officer, lost her first child conceived through fertility treatment, and has struggled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and panic attacks since.

PTSD and pregnancy

The woman, who lives in South East London, experienced a miscarriage in October 2019. She fell pregnant for the second time in January.

“I had a missed miscarriage, meaning that I lost my first child at six weeks, but we didn’t find out until the nine week scan,” she said. “After the miscarriage I didn’t expect this level of anxiety. Every time I walk into a hospital, the memories of what happened just came flooding back,” she said. “I’ve still struggled with

The Latest: New Zealand to End Restrictions Except in 1 City | World News

WELLINGTON, New Zealand: All remaining virus restrictions will be lifted across much of New Zealand from late Monday with the exception of the largest city, Auckland, which will continue to have some restrictions for at least another 16 days. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made the announcement Monday after meeting with top lawmakers. The nation of 5 million re-imposed some restrictions last month after an Auckland outbreak which now appears to be under control. Under the plan, maximum gathering sizes in Auckland will be increased from 10 to 100 on Wednesday and then caps removed two weeks after that. “Auckland needs more time,” Ardern told reporters in the city. “Whilst we have reasonable confidence we are on the right track, there is still a need in Auckland for that cautious approach.” Health authorities reported no new cases on Monday. The number of active cases is 62, with 33 from community spread
