After he got off work, Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said, he “went shopping in the community looking for things to steal.”

Now, the 33-year-old is facing 10 charges in connection with a home invasion spree in Macomb Township.

More than $9,000 worth of fishing equipment was among the property stolen in the after-midnight crimes at occupied homes after residents left their garage doors or a side door open between Aug. 30 and Sept. 13, Wickersham said.
