This Smart Home Gym Is The Future Of Fitness

JaxJox, which makes a smart personalized home gym that uses AI to track and improve your performance and give you a wellness score, just scored itself. The Seattle-based fit tech company announced today that it has raised $10 million to bring its JaxJox “interactive fitness studio” to market.

The company also announced an exclusive retail partnership with Best Buy, and customers can get the fitness studio installed by Best Buy’s Geek Squad.

The system consists of a 43” touchscreen TV that can display fitness classes as well as data about your performance. The screen rotates both horizontally and vertically, and tilts if you’re doing floor exercises. Crucially, however, JaxJox isn’t just about cardio: the system has integrated smart dumbbells and a smart kettlebell — both configurable for different weights — that also report performance data. SoulCycle’s At-Home Bike Launches Across The US, With Live Classes And New Variis Fitness App

Starting today, SoulCycle riders in all 50 states can bring the sweaty, high-energy, in-studio experience into their home with the national launch of SoulCycle’s at-home bike. Initially released to a small set of markets in March, this national launch coincides with the co-launch of Variis mobile app. SoulCycle’s live and on-demand classes stream to the at-home bike’s screen via Variis, Equinox Media’s digital fitness media platform. In addition to powering the digital SoulCycle experience, the standalone Variis mobile app also launches today, powering digital access to a variety of Equinox’ other notable digital fitness and mindfulness modalities.

110-year-old boxing brand Everlast to launch streaming fitness program

  • Everlast — the company best known for its sport fighting apparel and equipment like boxing gloves and heavy bags — is launching an at-home fitness service in February 2021.
  • While in its nascent stages, the company said its part of a “big push internally to develop more at home fitness and instructional content” and will be available on desktop, mobile, and smart TVs.

Apple rolls out virtual fitness service, subscription bundle, catering to pandemic work-from-home

(Reuters) – Apple Inc <AAPL.O> rolled out a new virtual fitness service and a bundle of all its subscriptions, Apple One, focusing a holiday-season product launch on services that are the backbone of Apple’s growth strategy and that cater to customers working at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apple also introduced a new Apple Watch Series 6 that monitors blood oxygen and will cost $399 and a more basic Apple Watch SE for $279.

But the bevy of incremental updates to existing hardware and subscription price tinkering disappointed investors, with Apple shares closing up 0.2%.

The Apple One bundle will cost $15 per month for an individual plan or $20 per month for a family plan and include television, music and games. Apple is also offering a bundle for $30 per month that adds news, the fitness service and more storage.
