From impact windows to home fitness equipment, the South Florida Fair’s Home Improvement & More Show is set to offer a one-stop shopping experience for residents looking to make at-home enhancements.
With over 60 vendors in attendance, the free event is set for Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25 at the Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Blvd., in West Palm Beach. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Representing an array of home improvement areas, the vendors include kitchen, bath, water filtration, patios, doors, landscape, security, remolding, hot tubs, roofing, gazebos, household items, art, jewelry, window treatment, decks, patios, screening, tree services, flooring and automotive.

The Fair said they created the event because people are spending more time in their homes because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Given what we’ve been experiencing since March with this pandemic, there has never been such a high demand for at-home enhancements in kitchens and baths, lawn and landscape, décor and home office ideas,” said Vicki Chouris, president & CEO of the South Florida Fair & Palm Beach County Expositions.
There are more than 60 vendors slated to be at the event that include categories such as windows, kitchen, bath, patios, landscaping, and more.
The annual NARI Home & Remodeling Show will be slightly smaller this year as the coronavirus pandemic keeps more people at home and interested in making improvements.
NARI Milwaukee is hosting its home and remodeling show Oct. 16-18 at State Fair Park.
Around 70 NARI Milwaukee members will host exhibit booths. Last year, more than 100 members staffed exhibit booths. The home and remodeling show has exhibitors for all types of remodeling and home improvement products and services.

The Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks District is planning to renovate the Veterans Memorial Amphitheater in Plaza Park.

The parks district began discussing the plans in 2008, but funding wasn’t available.
Ten years later, voters approved money for the project through a ballot measure in 2018.
“Right now, the whole facility is not ADA compatible,” said Mike Aho, district administrator for Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks. “None of it is.”
The plan will make the entire theater ADA compliant, allow it to be used year-round while keeping the open-air concept. Upgrades will also be made to bathrooms and dressing rooms.
