Chloe Goodman battles contractions and sings while on gas and air in candid videos from her labour

Chloe Goodman has shared three candid videos from her labour with daughter Isla.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, the reality star, 27, posted three videos featuring the early stages of labour at home, her struggle as the contractions increased and her singing while inhaling gas and air.

‘My waters broke at 4am with no signs of contractions, I went back to sleep and decided it was best to go to hospital in the morning and double check it was my waters and I hadn’t just wet myself.

‘The hospital confirmed it was my waters and there was still no sign of contractions so they booked me in to be induced for the next day.

‘Grant and I made our way home and we went about our day, less than an hour later the contractions started I stayed at home until 4pm and got to hospital at 4.30pm I was 4cm dilated and went to the delivery room with Grant.

Discussing the progression of her labour, she said:  ‘Because I had half my cervix removed due to severe abnormal cells, I had a very quick labour and dilated very quickly.

‘Within 1 and half hours I had dilated 2cm, I remember thinking this is amazing, I’m doing it with just gas and air and thinking I’ll see how far I can get without drugs. 

‘It wasn’t long before the urge to push was overwhelming. I was pushing for 20 minutes and my baby girl was born at 8.23pm.

‘I was extremely lucky with my labour and loved every second I would do it over and over again.’

Chloe also gave a harrowing insight into the recovery stages of her birth, saying she ‘wasn’t as lucky’ as she had been with her labour.

She said: ‘I had a 2nd degree tear which the midwives struggled with due to it being jagged and going to blood vessels, unfortunately my stitches broke down after 2 days and I suffered with 2 different types of infections. 

‘A course of antibiotics sorted it out and it’s safe to say I’ve been doing my pelvic floor exercises ever since! whilst I await my upcoming surgery to repair the damage.’  

The first video shows Chloe in her underwear as she began labouring. 

She wrote: ‘This was me in labour at home with Amelia Goodman keeping me chilled while Grant started to panic pack the car. 

‘Isla was actually born a few hours after this video and me and Amelia thought it would be a whole day

Supportive partner Grant said: ‘You’re doing really well’ as Chloe screamed in pain. 

The last video showed Chloe singing MC Hammer’s U Can’t Touch This as she inhaled gas and air, as she wrote: ‘I mean I don’t know why I started singing, let alone this song.’  

Chloe had a difficult pregnancy after needing to have a cervical stitch – a common treatment for woman who have had previous cervical surgery – and suffering from severe anxiety as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. 

The brunette revealed how the message behind her little one’s name in an interview with Closer magazine back in May. 

She said: ‘My partner chose Isla and I thought it was beautiful and a lovely classy name. We chose Elizabeth as that’s my middle name and it was my great-grandmother’s. It has been passed down the whole family.’
