Filipo Ganna became Italy’s first time trial world champion on Friday by pipping Belgium’s Wout Van Aert on home soil in Imola.

Van Aert was 26 seconds behind the 24-year-old Team Ineos rider with Switzerland’s Stefan Kueng trailing by 29 seconds in third place.

Ganna’s victory just to the south of northern city Bologna adds to his successes in the individual pursuit.

“It’s a dream for me and I’m really happy. I give my personal thank you to the whole team of Italy and also for Ineos Grenadiers,” he said.

“I don’t have the words. I’ve won four rainbow jerseys on the track; this is my first in the time trial. I will celebrate with my family,” he added.

Regaining Control Of Remote Application Environments In A Work-From-Home World

Eugene Xiong is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Foxit, a leading provider of innovative PDF products and services.

The Covid-19 shutdown of businesses hit most companies like a bolt of lightning. It was sudden and shocking. Now, more than five months into this pervasive global disruption, it has become clear to many that a return to work as we knew it will be gradual at best.

Work from home, for those who can do it, is becoming the new normal for the foreseeable future. Many managers are discovering that their teams can, indeed, function at a distance.

Google, for example, recently announced that it would keep its employees working from home at least until July 2021. Apple said it will not open offices before next year at the earliest. And Twitter said its employees will be able to work from home as long as they

‘Work From Home’: Johnson Starts Shutting Down Britain Again as COVID-19 Spreads | World News

By Guy Faulconbridge and Estelle Shirbon

LONDON (Reuters) – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will tell people on Tuesday to work from home where possible and will curb timings for bars and restaurants to tackle a fast-spreading second coronavirus wave, but the opposition accused him of losing control.

With millions across the United Kingdom already under some form of COVID-19 restriction, Johnson will tighten measures in England while stopping short of another full lockdown like he imposed in March, according to his office and ministers.

Johnson will hold emergency meetings with ministers, address parliament at 1130 GMT and then speak to the nation at 1900 GMT after government scientists warned that the death rate would soar without urgent action.

Just weeks after urging people to start returning to workplaces, Johnson will now advise them to stay at home if they can, according to his office and ministers. He will also

Did The Pandemic Destroy The World Economy As Much As We Think?

Did the pandemic destroy the world economy as much as we think. That depends on who you ask. Barclays Capital economists, led by Christian Keller, say no.

“The pandemic is not over, but (economic) activity data in recent months provided good news,” says Keller. “The growth contractions in the second quarter were typically less severe than feared and the subsequent recovery, at least in its initial phase, has surprised on the upside.”

This has been particularly true in the U.S. and in China, where the economy is on the upswing. China, in fact, is expected to register positive growth this year. It won’t be over 5%, as was expected. But it won’t be negative, either, assuming economies remain as is for

The Latest: New Zealand to End Restrictions Except in 1 City | World News

WELLINGTON, New Zealand: All remaining virus restrictions will be lifted across much of New Zealand from late Monday with the exception of the largest city, Auckland, which will continue to have some restrictions for at least another 16 days. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made the announcement Monday after meeting with top lawmakers. The nation of 5 million re-imposed some restrictions last month after an Auckland outbreak which now appears to be under control. Under the plan, maximum gathering sizes in Auckland will be increased from 10 to 100 on Wednesday and then caps removed two weeks after that. “Auckland needs more time,” Ardern told reporters in the city. “Whilst we have reasonable confidence we are on the right track, there is still a need in Auckland for that cautious approach.” Health authorities reported no new cases on Monday. The number of active cases is 62, with 33 from community spread
