Lowe’s To Install ‘Buy Online Pickup In Store’ Lockers At All U.S. Stores

(RTTNews) – Home improvement retailer Lowe’s Companies Inc. plans to install pickup lockers at all U.S. stores aiming to improve contactless delivery for online buyers amid worsening Covid-19 spread.

The “Buy Online Pickup in Store” self-service lockers at its more than 1,700 stores will be available by the end of March 2021. In most major metro markets, the additional online pickup option will be installed by Thanksgiving.

Lowe’s is teaming with Parcel Pending by Quadient, a provider of package management solutions, for the retail locker solution.

The electronic technology in the lockers generates a scannable barcode when an order is ready for pickup. Customers can quickly collect their online orders from self-service lockers near the front of stores in locations.

This will eliminate checkout time, allow direct access to pick up orders, and help customers get in and out of the store faster during the busy holiday season.

You Can Now Redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards at Supermarkets, Restaurants and Home Improvement Stores. But Should You?

As an expert in credit cards and travel rewards, I know how to work the system. Up until COVID hit the U.S. this spring, I earned hundreds of thousands of points in Chase’s Ultimate Rewards program, which I redeemed to take personal and business trips nearly every month.

But I haven’t traveled since March. And it’s unlikely that I’ll travel again this year. So what do rewards credit card users like me do with all of the travel rewards that we’ve earned?

Thankfully, Chase now offers several non-travel ways to redeem rewards, called Pay Yourself Back℠. Should you use your points for these new options?

Asda has announced a partnership with home improvement brand B&Q, as well as a new model of convenience store, in a bid to revitalise its business.

The supermarket said it would trial a new Asda On the Move convenience brand offering essential goods from three fuel station forecourts in the Midlands.

The trial brand will be located in Ashby, Leamore and Primley petrol stations, all operated by EG group.

Alongside the convenience store brand, Asda has announced a new partnership with B&Q, offering small B&Q outlets within Asda superstores.

The trial of four ‘shop within a shop’ compact B&Q stores will initially launch in Sheffield and Dagenham, and expand to two further shops at a later date.  Customers will also be able to access B&Q’s full range in-store for home delivery or click and collect.

The new developments are part of Asda’s ‘test and learn’ strategy, which has already seen
