New Orleans Saints see improvements, but not enough to post victory over Green Bay

The New Orleans Saints did some good things on offense and defense against Green Bay. They just didn’t do enough of them.

There were enough loose ends for the Saints that they couldn’t produce a victory Sunday night in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, where the Packers posted a 37-30 victory that was the second consecutive loss for New Orleans (1-2).

Penalties continue to be a significant hindrance (eight for 83 yards against the Packers), especially defensively, and two starters on offense (left guard Andrus Peat and tight end Jared Cook) couldn’t finish the game due to injuries. New Orleans has some cleaning up to do before it can put itself in position to win, and the next opportunity for that will come Sunday on the road against Detroit.

Minnesota cannabis company Vireo gives retail outlets a new name, Green Goods

Vireo Health, a Minneapolis-based cannabis company, has changed the name of its Minnesota Medical Solutions cannabis-patient centers to Green Goods.

“The Green Goods brand is the next evolution of Vireo’s continued commitment to providing patients with best-in-class medical cannabis products and customer experiences,” Dr. Kyle Kingsley, the firm’s chief executive, said in a statement.

Its retail outlets in Minneapolis, Bloomington, Rochester, and Moorhead are being renovated to “create a relaxed and engaging environment” and “serve more patients in a timely fashion,” the firm said.

Vireo Health expects to open two new locations in Blaine and Hermantown under the Green Goods brand by November and additional locations in Burnsville and Woodbury should open by the end of 2020.

Former administrator at Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham stole $230K from resident to pay for family vacations and other expenses, authorities say

A former administrator at a Massachusetts nursing home was accused this week of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from an elderly resident and using the money to pay for family vacations, home repairs and other expenses, authorities said.

Christina Polcari, the former admissions director at the Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham, was charged in connection with the scheme to steal $230,000 from the resident, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey announced Monday.

Authorities claimed that from August 2018 to May 2019, Polcari spent the resident’s funds on personal expenses, including repairs to her home, restaurants, cash withdrawals and vacations for her and her family.

She is accused of using a forged signature for various promissory notes, letter and checks to cover up the theft, Healey’s office said in a statement.
