Prince Harry and Meghan Refund UK Taxpayers for Home Renovation | World News

LONDON (Reuters) – Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have refunded British taxpayers 2.4 million pounds ($3.2 million), the cost of renovating their UK home, in line with a commitment they made after announcing in January they would step back from royal duties.

The refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, a house within the grounds of Queen Elizabeth’s Windsor Castle west of London, had been criticized by some British media as too expensive.

The repayment comes as Harry and Meghan, an American former actress, seek to forge new careers for themselves and attain greater financial independence. They announced last week they had signed a contract with Netflix to produce content for the streaming platform.

Officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the couple have moved to California but will keep Frogmore Cottage as their home when they come back to Britain, under the terms of their agreement with the queen,

Airport, city to see improvements | News

“This will trash up the currently peaceful drive into Skiatook,” Windsor stated.

Michael Render, who owns 25 acres directly across Highway 20 from the mini storage was concerned that the city was thinking too small in their plans for the corridor from Highway 75 into Skiatook. He stated the developer has a very good plan, but wondered if the storage facility met the bigger picture of what the city sees as the potential for the corridor. He recommended tabling or disproving the proposal.

Clay Staires said, “I don’t know about a storage unit to welcome people to town. It looks like a beautiful little place, but it’s a storage unit.” He also stated that the council did not have to approve the proposal.

Chris Tracy recently bought a house in the area and was concerned about his grandkids being near a storage facility.

City Lawyer Joel Barnaby informed the council

Work lunches that don’t make use of the office kitchen

If you’re looking for ideas for lunches to take to work, you may find it especially hard right now. Between social distancing in the office and perhaps wanting to limit your trips to the communal kitchen, lunch takes more planning than it used to. While you may want a lunch that doesn’t rely on using the workplace fridge, sink or microwave, you will still want the food to taste good without reheating and for it to be stored safely to fend off bad bacteria.

To help you tick both boxes, we’ve put together a list of tips that keep food safety in mind, along with recipes that fit the bill.

Why you can’t just leave your lunch at room temp all day

Startup Lands VC Funds As Demand Surges For Its At-Home Test Kits

Proov, an at-home hormone testing kit company, has announced funding from two venture capital firms that aim to build up underrepresented founders.

The investment – the amount was not disclosed – from Lightship Capital and Texas HALO Fund will help Proov scale in the wake of Covid-19 as the company continues to offer fertility diagnostics technology to the retail market.

MFB Fertility Inc. launched Proov in 2018. Its FDA-approved at-home test measures the presence of progesterone metabolite PdG in urine to help a woman confirm ovulation; low progesterone is the number one cause of infertility and preventable miscarriage. The company was originally co-founded in Boulder, Colorado, by two women who both struggled to conceive.

Because of Covid-19, the

  • The coronavirus pandemic isn’t killing cities, according to Home Depot CEO Craig Menear.
  • Much has been made about the coronavirus pandemic sending millennials packing for the suburbs.
  • Speaking at a Goldman Sachs conference on Thursday, the home improvement executive said that millennials were always set to relocate to more spacious, affordable locations.
  • Menear stressed that generalized and incorrect assumptions have long been made about millennial migration.
  • Visit Business Insider’s homepage for more stories.

Reports of the COVID-19-related death of the American city are greatly exaggerated, according to Home Depot CEO Craig Menear.

As the pandemic continues to hamper city life, many reports and op-eds have highlighted the migration of young professionals out of urban areas. But speaking on Thursday at Goldman Sachs’ annual Global Retailing Virtual Conference, Menear said a good portion of millennials were always going to drift to the suburbs, coronavirus pandemic or no coronavirus pandemic.

‘Home Improvement,’ ‘Friends’ & More Cast Reunions Coming to TV

There’s never been a better time for nostalgic TV reunions and there are plenty coming to viewers in the future. Here are four big cast reunions we can’t wait for:

Home Improvement

It’s Tool Time again! Sort of.  Home  Improvement‘s Tim Allen and Richard Karn, who played Tim Taylor and Al Borland, respectively, on the 1991–99 ABC sitcom, are rejoining forces for Assembly Required, a 10-episode competition coming to History next year. Contestants will rebuild common household items, trying to, yes, improve them. The duo, who cohost and judge, will also dig into the products’ history. Says Allen: “I’ve created a show to remind people of the satisfaction and pride that comes from rebuilding something on their own.”
